Missouri Valley JATC

Indianola, Iowa

Mid-American Glazing Systems (MAGS) is proud to have been involved in the development of the Missouri Valley Line Constructors Jobs, Apprenticeship, and Training Center (Missouri Valley JATC) in Indianola, Iowa. This project, completed in Fall 2020, showcases a 49,000 square-foot state-of-the-art training facility designed specifically for hands-on job training in industrial trades.

Our role in this ambitious project included the provision of advanced glazing solutions that complement both the functionality and the architectural aesthetics of the facility. The training center, designed by Ethos Design Group and constructed through a bid build delivery method, incorporates unique architectural elements such as Corten columns that mimic wooden power line poles at the main entry canopy. This design element aligns perfectly with the industrial training provided within the facility.

MAGS’s glazing work is featured throughout the facility, enhancing natural light entry and providing safety and durability in high-activity areas. The indoor pole climbing facility, a highlight of the training center, benefits from our glazing that supports the facility’s need for clear visibility and light, essential for the safety and effectiveness of training activities.

The combination of structural elements like pre-engineered metal buildings, structural masonry, precast, and structural stud framing is further complemented by our glazing, which ties together the building’s robust industrial feel with its educational purpose. The interior design, featuring exposed decking, joists, and MEP rough-ins above sealed concrete and epoxy coated flooring, maintains an industrial aesthetic that is both functional and inspiring for trainees.

Additionally, the extensive site work including 77,000 square feet of paving and 13,000 square feet of sidewalks and flumes, was integrated seamlessly with the overall design, highlighting the comprehensive approach taken in this project.

MAGS is honored to contribute to a facility that plays a crucial role in training the next generation of industrial trade professionals, providing them with a modern, well-equipped environment to learn and grow in their respective fields.
