Job Title:            Commercial Glazing Estimator

Reports to:       Regional Manager

Position Overview:

Our estimator’s role is primarily focused on sales of new contract glazing work for commercial construction projects. This will include material take-offs, cost estimates, planning, and documentation of sales opportunities, as well as assisting the project managers with job handoff documentation.  He or she works with the project manager to bring the newly contracted work through the submittal process.

Requirements:

  • 3+ years commercial construction estimating & glazing estimating experience preferred
  • Independent worker who can effectively collaborate in a team environment
  • Skilled in reading construction blueprints, specs, and working with online plan services
  • Must be able to visualize, from blueprints or drawings, the finished product for take-off and estimate
  • Possess skill and ability to value engineer a project for alternative methods of achievement
  • Ability to use or learn Glaziers Studio or other estimating software
  • Skilled in use of QuickBooks, Outlook, Microsoft Office, Teams, Zoom
  • Great communication skills
  • Must be able to climb a ladder and walk around job sites if needed to evaluate project for estimation.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Prepare accurate material take-offs and labor estimates assigned as necessary
  • Organize specifications per job scope for estimate
  • Prepare substitution requests for value engineering purposes
  • Prepare project cost estimate and bid for new commercial construction projects
  • Visit site as needed for estimating
  • Computes costs by analyzing labor, material, and time requirements
  • Collaborate with regional manager on all quotes or bids for best market positioning
  • Attend and represent company at different showcases that his manager requires him to attend
  • Update sales director on status of bids in process or sent

Job Title:            Project Manager

Reports to:       Regional Manager

Position Overview: 

Our Project Manager works alongside the Operations Team, suppliers, subcontractors, and office staff. The Project Manager is responsible for multiple construction projects ranging from $5,000 to $5,000,000.

Requirements

  • High school diploma (or GED or high school equivalence certificate)
  • OSHA 10-hour safety training minimally along with an understanding of safe work practices for construction jobs
  • 3 years of glass and glazing industry experience
  • 2 year of project management experience
  • Ability to work Monday through Friday 7 am to 4 pm with occasional overtime
  • Travel 50% of the time with minimal overnight travel necessities

Essential Job Functions

  • Lead planning meetings with glaziers to ensure materials and equipment are acquired in a timely manner before project start using PO and administrative systems
  • Communicate with glaziers on daily project progress and address needs of specific construction jobs
  • Manage issues and concerns, ensure quality, and drive project for on-time project completion
  • Understand and update the labor budget including breakdowns by task
  • Assist with progress billing including AIA and “Work in Process” billing practices
  • Create or purchase the submittals and gain product and method approvals
  • Manage and maintain schedules for multiple projects and regularly visit project sites
  • Maintain project folders and files
  • Ensure excellent company reputation throughout the completion of the project
  • Directly report to the regional manager
  • Other related duties as assigned

Physical Requirements

  • Able to spend long periods of time sitting or standing
  • Able to spend long periods of time using a computer
  • Able to safely navigate job sites and adhere to safety standards
